Our History
Biblionef Ghana is a non-governmental organization established in 2014 by Stichting Biblionef Nederland, an NGO based in the Netherlands. In the late 1980’s, a Dutch ambassador working in diplomatic missions around the world saw that there were children who had no idea of the joy of reading a book – a joy he wanted to share with them. This birthed the idea of Biblionef.
Biblionef Ghana is part of a network of several Independent Biblionef organisations with the same focus, located in France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Surinam and South Africa. Biblionef Ghana is managed by an Executive Director, Mrs. Patricia Arthur and a 6-member Board of Trustees
Our Vision
To have underprivileged children in Ghana experience the joy of reading, and the love for books, giving them an opportunity for a brighter future.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote and support literacy by creating access to reading materials for underprivileged children in Ghana through the provision of new books and translations in local dialects.
